"Chahun Main Ya Naa" (English: Should I love you or not?) is a romantic Hindi song from the 2013 Bollywood film, ''Aashiqui 2''. Composed by Jeet Gannguli, the song is sung by Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil. The music video of the track features actors Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
== Background ==
The song is composed by Jeet Gannguli. On 6 April 2012, Mukesh Bhatt reported that the songs composed by Gannguli has already been finalised and "locked"; "Jeet has given excellent music. I'm sure he will be one of the best music directors of the country in no time". On 5 May 2012, Gannguli's compositions in the song was confirmed by Bhatt. Gannguli collaborated with Bhatt for ''Blood Money'' (2012) and was working with the compositions of ''Raaz 3D'' (2012) during the time of his venture. The song was shot across 10 locations and was the only song that was continuously shot from the first day to the last.
The song is sung by Arijit Singh and Palak Muchhal, marking their first collaboration in Bollywood which is followed by "Dhokha Dhadi" from ''R... Rajkumar'' (2013). The album consist a duet version of the song "Tum Hi Ho" titled "Meri Aashiqui" which is also sung by the duo. When asked about the proffer for the song in the film, Mucchal stated; "I was so excited when I was called to sing for Aashiqui 2 as I've grown up listening to Aashiqui songs! There was a big responsibility on the music team because music of Aashiqui 1 was super hit and we had to match the standards". Mucchal was offered to sing "Chahun Main Ya Naa" a month later she recorded for the song "Meri Aashiqui" from the same film, composed by Mithoon. The song is mixed and mastered by Eric Pillai from Future Sound of Bombay, in the assistance of Michael Edwin Pillai.〔
